Thank you to Laurel for the use of her blanket to block the outdoors. 450 Watt metal halide - 18 hours on / 6 hours off. This replicates mother natures vegetative stage.

Basil forever - Hydroponic

70 days from seed - PH 6.0 / H2o temp 65 - 70 / RH - 50 % / Ait Temp 68 - 82 / 450 Watt sodium - 18 hours on and 6 hours off.

Ebb & Flow

Backyard Grey Water System

PVC attached to clothes washer drain. 30 % of your water usage is from that washer you have. Plants love soapy water. By hooking up a simple greywater system you water your plants, soap is a natural pesticide and you also tax the sewer system much less. Drill a few holes in the PVC to drain into the yard and you have luscious vegitation.

A few clay pellets to stabalize the weight.

Greywater

Exit point for water into yard from washer. The water can also be stored in a cistern and used to flush your toilets. That will knock 35% off of your water bill. Lower the tank size on the toilet to a lower gallonage can save some $$ as well if you don't want to recycle grey water.

Ebb & Flow

Every 12 hours a timer activates and fills the base with fresh airated water. This will circulate for 15 minutes and the drain. The water entering forces the old oxygen out and then when it drains it pulls in fresh oxyginated air. The medium is rockwool - ph 5.5 - 6.5 - h2o temp 60 - 65 F. RH - 45 - 75 %
